the credit card companies quite literally generate infinite money, they will win any dispute against even the most powerful video game distributor that has ever existed.
Not the best example because debauchery/(((who))) runs it, but Pornhub has been banned from processing with Visa and Mastercard since 2020 and they're doing just fine.
They don't even need to have a dispute. Restrict whatever content Visa/Mastercard demands banned to other payment processors. "These credit card carriers won't let you pay for it with their service. Choose to checkout with paypal/crypto/other."
Pornhub is used by glowies. That's why they removed non-sexual content like movies.
Porn =/= Video games.
Your example is even worse.
its about convenience. 99.9% of people dont use crypto. and paypal can be easily be swayed too.and the other types of payment processors are either unknown or people dont trust because unknown.
99.9% of people don't buy those type of games either. It's the capitulating whole cloth that is the issue. Force the consumer to find have to jump through the hoop. That way, when the credit card company tries to pull this shit on a popular title, the precedent is set and fans see the credit card company as the bad guy they are.
It doesn't matter if the company wins a singular dispute if they're black listed from using payment processing entirely.
