I don't buy the idea that he is this out of touch. Which means he is aware how bad this comes off and is doing it anyway. I'm not sure how anyone can conclude anything aside from he must be covering for Israel, or that someone he wants to protect is implicated. Hope the deal with the devil is worth it for him. Hard to conclude that it is anything but terrible for the country as a whole.
Honestly, there's no way he's this stupid to not know how this "heel turn" will go down.
The one thing he's a genius on is manipulating social media. If he really believed this, it would be one of those greatest tactical blunders from brilliant generals, as bad as Napoleon going to sleep during the Battle of Waterloo. Or Caesar sailing out of Alexandria to do an in-person night-time amphibious landing on a dock.
It's possible, but it's genuinely hard to believe that he'd be so dense that he couldn't see this would have the opposite effect. As Robert Barnes said, it's like he's banging on the Streisand Effect. It's weird to say this is 4-d chess, but I actually feel like it might be. He's creating negative political attention. He does seem to be constantly doing this thing where he takes risks and cashes in at the last moment with whatever wins he has, and then takes credit as if it were the plan all along.
I actually kind of wonder if he's using this to launch a deeper investigation, or force someone out. It's weird.
Yeah all I will say with certainty is that I have no certain grasp on what the hell he's thinking right now. I would have pushed back on the 4D chess angle a day or two ago, but it's crossed into the "so bad it isn't plausible that he's this stupid" territory so I don't know what to think anymore.
I'm a big fan of Barnes, especially lately. Where did he say that, in the big Sunday stream they do?
Yeah, he said it on the Sunday stream, I was watching it late. He's more convinced that this is incompetence from people around Trump pushing some worm-tounge bullshit. He was ranting pretty hard.
The thing is that I can't quite tell where Trump is actually going. It's like he's pulling the 'madman leader' on everyone. He keeps pushing things in certain ways that, even if he burns political capital, he ends up getting what he wanted.
With the tarrifs, he was basically making shit up about the actual justifications for the tarrifs, and pledged bajillion percent tarrifs, and then softened when he got most of what he wanted. With Iran, he basically sounded like he was going to send in the Marines, and then got the specifics of what he wanted when he knocked out the nuclear program and made a show of US strength. Now we've got him screeching that Epstein dindu nuffin... it makes me think he'll back down on that and launch some kind of investigation.
I never said it wasn't related to Israel, get over yourself. And, in fact, it might be a way to get an investigation going regardless of Netanyahu is hoping he does. Moreover, Iran has shown that Trump isn't doing whatever Netanyahu wants. It appears that Trump, finally, seems to actually have leverage on Israel. He's just not pressuring them enough.

The White House coup by Israel is compete.
This. It can’t be explained any other way.

Dang, ya’ll have some serious faith going on.
My counterpoint? His opinion on the vaccines.
He’s been known to fuck up badly.
Definitely not favoring the 4D chess angle, just considering it a solid possibility.

Of course it is, it certainly isnt our greatest ally.
