The government gave numerous advanced warnings leading up to the flooding. The relevant state department posted a timeline on Twitter and the gist is that they did as much as anyone could have to get people to prepare and evacuate depending on their location.

It doesn't matter what they actually did though. Faggots like this would claim that funding cuts had a direct impact even though they didn't.

Building shit in floodplains is generally a tremendously stupid idea. Moving water is dangerous. Even the smallest creek can suddenly become a raging river that will kill you. This was easily preventable. But it'll happen again because people are idiots.

Meh I technically live in “floodplains”. We have these magical things called dams that stop flooding when utilized properly. I have had exactly zero flooding or flooding damage, nor anyone I know who lives riverside. The biggest hassle I have is retarded people who don’t understand that boat quake causes erosion and damages boat lifts.

There are different levels of floodplains. Dams don't prevent flooding. Dams can only control flooding and if used correctly prevent catastrophic flooding. But they are neither infallible nor limitless.

Also doesn’t help that they were cloud seeding earlier. Nor does it happening early in the morning help either.
