I hope he gets to spend his last two years dodging impeachment trials while he looks around befuddled about why his supporters aren't defending him this time.
IRL I call this "The Boomer Slackjaw." The slow, searching turning of the head, mouth slightly agape, wondering why the world isn't working the way you want it to, doggone it.
Man, you nailed a phenomenon there. Look at any high foot traffic social/cultural event in America these days (festivals, fairs, shows etc.), and you get to see dozens of these types of boomers, looking around in a confused daze at the nonedescript brown hordes that overwhelm them. It's only in these types of settings where they actually come face to face with the consequences of their lifelong political choices. You can almost hear them wondering 'Where did the safe, homogenous America of the 60s/70s/80s go? When I was young, everybody here was white. Who are all these people? How did this happen?'.
Then they go home to their McMansion, turn on the TV, and soothe the cognitive dissonance.
I see it every. single. time. I go to a retail outlet. Some retiree, slooooowly shuffling down the center of the aisle, even if they have people in front and behind trying to get around them. And if you ever get close enough, they try to strike up a conversation... and it almost always begins with "I can't believe prices these days!"
the consequences of their lifelong political choices.
This is just wrong. Every time it has been put to a vote anywhere in any western nation, people have voted against this.
This has not been a "political" event. This has been an intentional, decades-long undermining by our own "leaders".
The only "choice" people have made is to assume that the international uniparty apparatus shills aren't lying about everything 100% of the time. And I don't think that's going to continue much longer.

I've worked jobs for people like this.
I've also quit jobs due to people like this.
Edit: if you have not done so yet, trying adding this to urban dictionary.

Fuck you for reminding me of this look I've seen far too many times from middle-managers who have zero fucking clue how a shop floor actually works 😅
"Why aren't you done yet?"
"Because it's Thursday."
"So?"
"Label changes happen on Thursday."
"So?"
"There are over 10'000 of them and only 3 of us assigned to the task."
"So?"
