Whenever this topic shows up there half the replies I see are along the lines of "Son if your job can be done remotely, IT AIN'T A REAL JOB" or that Americans should be replaced by h1b Indians if they refuse to go into the office. Which is weird because in all other contexts they are very against h1bs.
It was amazing to see how fast the government pivoted to “Everybody needs to work/school remotely,” then back to “Everybody get back to the office/school!”
Most of the jobs will be redundant anyway because of the new tech. More people will freelance while the city disintegrates.
Now tell that to an architect and watch him try to talk his way out of it. Cities are prestige stuff to them, and losing all of it is hitting them really hard.
