That's absolutely a portion of it, but it also benefits Iran too.
I'm actually betting that the Iranians got their head out of their ass and gave up to Trump, regardless of what the Israelis wanted, so they tried to get a deal before Israel could fuck it up.
Then again, they just launched rockets within 15 minutes of this comment, so who knows.
Isreal wanted Iran to give up to Trump so potato potato.
I think Israel wants to watch the ayatollah set himself and his family on fire in front of them, not give up to Trump.

Until we know who spoke to who, I'm inclined to believe the chain of command in Iran has collapsed and the field commanders are just doing whatever the fuck they feel like.
I can't deny that this isn't a strong possibility.
