Presumably nothing much, as we've moved on to different propaganda.
I think it was Scott Horton, but I was listening to a bunch of different people on the anti-war side today, who said that basically all of Yemen is now basically the Houthis, because that's just how that shit works. They were bombed, and took the side of the ones not bombing them, against the people bombing them.
But we don't care anymore, it's all about Iran.
Just like we don't care about the groups we've supported, fought, or both. Where are the Kurds nowadays? Who cares, we have a new Thing. ISIS? Old news. Taliban? Eh, boring. Al-Qaeda? Sure, they were big news back in the day, and now run a country or whatever, but that doesn't really matter.
Snark aside...they've probably been recruiting like crazy, but laying low for a bit. And the talk about moving on is true. They're still out there, we just don't care any more. It's all about stopping Iran from getting a nuke/* in two weeks.
/* some exceptions apply. Not a real nuke. Not attached to a missile. Not fully enriched. But it's nuclear. And that's terrible.
I get your over arching snarky point.. But it does appear the attacks have stopped.
I mean...they were abiding by the ceasefire, until Israel broke it. It does seem like they wanted to edge away from attacking American ships, because they realized it's a bad idea to fuck with the US.
It just seems they eased off the pressure after they got some pushback, but are still around. My point was, not a whole lot changed, people just stopped caring about them, because they were no longer told to care about them.
Houthis were never a threat. They're now even less of one, since they don't seem to be touching American ships.
Their threat to international shipping, the capture and even sinking of cargo ships? That was not real? This hampered the economies of many nations & cost countless billions to re-route cargo away from the danger. Plus those additional GHGs from longer routes were destroying the planet, eh?
They were indeed a threat to America, Europe and everyone else too. Plus they fired lots of drones at Israel too, shortly before Trump obliterated them. The Saudis have long wanted them gone, so they're probably very pleased with Trump right now.

Because Israeli affiliated ships avoid the Suez canal and the US have stopped wasting money on bombing the Houthis. Israel has only ever been the target of the sea blockade.
They've been attacking international shipping for many years now. This "anti-Israel" excuse is very recent. Just like the rest of the pirates in the region, they will attack anyone they can catch.
Houthis have been attacking international shipping before the Gaza war? That's news to me. Can you give me an example where they've attacked a ship of someone that hasn't been involved in the Yemeni civil war? Because I'm only able to find a case where they've seized an UAE vessel.

They aren’t a big threat to america and are unlikely to launch an attack on American soil or military bases but they were a huge annoyance on 2024
