He or rather Israel is trying to force a regime change as Israel is getting pummeled hard by Iran (I'm 100% convinced they can't win a military confrontation) but dragging the US into the war to do the dirty work for them seems to be more difficult than they had hoped despite Trump appearing to be choking on Zionist dick and going off the deep end on Social Media.
But hopefully the Iranian people aren't dumb enough to support a third US backed coup.
It wouldn't just one more step. Direct military intervention could not just be a catalyst for a full blown regional or even global war but Iran could decide to go scorched earth and kill the world economy. Obviously it all depends on the actual capabilities of Iran but we're seeing in Israel how difficult it is to defend yourself against mass missile attacks despite getting help from multiple countries shooting down missiles.
