Measuring type 2 diabetic rates and heart disease rates by population is a far better metric comparatively. For example Asians have a massively higher risk of type 2 diabetes at ~11% (diagnosed) than non Hispanic whites (6.9-7.5%) and are more comparable to blacks (12%) and the national average is ~11%.
What can be said is American women across the board are the overwhelming majority of morbid obesity with a 2:1 ratio compared to men that tracks across all races.
