Yeah Whites have lower rates of obesity than blacks and Hispanics but not by much.
That’s still “whites”, if you cut out Arabs and Jews it’s even lower and if you adjust the bmi for muscle mass it’s egregiously lower for white men. I had to be taped every year in the military because I was 225 and 6’1 which had me at “obese”, after taping my neck/ waist my adjusted BMI was 7% body fat.
Why do American Asians have much lower rates of obesity than everyone else despite living in the same country.? like i said it seems to be the big portion sizes that people eat.
Because Asian Americans are hilariously shorter, have next to zero muscle mass, and are a microcosm of the population, there’s more people that identify as “LGBTQ” than Asians in America.
While there is a “food” (sugar) engorgement issue with a decent percentage of the population, the “obesity” metrics used are egregiously archaic because actually separating muscle mass from fat requires more data than height/weight. Measuring type 2 diabetic rates and heart disease rates by population is a far better metric comparatively. For example Asians have a massively higher risk of type 2 diabetes at ~11% (diagnosed) than non Hispanic whites (6.9-7.5%) and are more comparable to blacks (12%) and the national average is ~11%.
What can be said is American women across the board are the overwhelming majority of morbid obesity with a 2:1 ratio compared to men that tracks across all races.
