When the bum-grazing jeans first debuted in the Britney Era, the constant emphasis on ultra-thin bodies was at peak “yikes.” So was the now-cringe idea that looking “sexy” for men was actually “empowering” for women.
You know what's going to be really disempowering? When men as a whole finally stop treating women with kids gloves and hold them to the same standards as everyone else, and 90% of them find they can't keep up or compete on a level playing field. Then being cute and hot enough to get a free pass will suddenly become "empowering" all over again.
I was reminded of how different things have become last night. Watching Chinatown, a crime drama movie from 1974. At a certain point the main character slaps a woman across the face for lying, or hell I think maybe more suspecting a lie. Then continues to slap her until he gets the truth. It didn't feel like any big moment to the movie either. If that was in a movie now it would be the talk of urinalists. Another counter to the whole empathy argument that leftists use, just minutes later after getting the truth he feels bad for the woman's situation and helps her. It was never really anything more than quickly delivered message to quit slithering around like a snake and lets get to the facts so I can help you.

If you liked that consider watching Double Indemnity.
I'll put it on the list. I struggle a bit with the often slow burn of movies pre-90s but I'll keep watching.
Cool Hand Luke, Das Boot, The Sting. If you haven't seen these, please do.
Same but i wouldn't call that one slow.
remind me again which normal men control fashion?
