Not really. The COD/ Battlefield style shooter is basically dead, having been consumed by wokeness. There are some shooter types that still produce quality but nothing like COD anymore.
Squad and Arma Reforger are the closest and they're not really the same thing as Battlefield at all. They have their niche communities and combined arms play, but they're a bit too indy jank to feel compelling and visceral like the Battlefield 2 through Battlefield 1.
are there any good battlefield competitors out right now? Irma is a little too autistic for me, and call of duty has its own problems
You have to go way different if you want a multiplayer squad based shooter. Something like Hell Let Loose or BattleBit Remastered
is Battle bit still populated? it was pretty big when it first came out but the last I checked it was dead.
No, it's still pretty dead, but I'm using it simply as an example. You can still play in it, it just doesn't have the largest playerbase anymore.
Kinda sucks because I think I would have had a lot of fun with it, but I never bought it when it was really going.
yeah, it was really fun at its peak. The maps have tons of variation and were well suited to 100-player matches.
