I think it used to be a sort of subsidiary brand. Then was re-integrated into Vice along with several others and turned into "feature" sections. Motherboard was the other name I remember, but there were a handful.

None of them had the traffic to sustain themselves on their own.

Then in 2024 (post-bankruptcy?) they got the bright idea to relaunch them as semi-independent again but aimed more at licensing content than trying to attract advertisers of their own.
