Im very curious as to what attracts leftists to the police in the UK. All their cops seem to be hardcore leftist. Whereas most cops in the US lean to the right, not that they wont follow political orders from leftists but they'll at least find it absurd and not make a display out of it.

They were totally fine enforcing leftist laws and regulations during the lockdown, and many of them, especially in blue cities, flaunted their diversity hires.
Some were, but there were plenty of instances where the local cops refused, so the city brought in cops from a neighboring city or the staties. The more removed they were from the community, the better.
I would say most of the rank and file lean right. The top dogs are definitely leftists because at that point it is a popularity contest to get promoted.
