Did he sign off on it though? James Earl Jones did before he died so that his voice could be synthesised in future works, Star Wars would be my assumption for this, so at least there it's the actual VA giving permission and not his family/estate making a cash grab.

There are lots of voiceover artists in New York. 4kids was based there.
It didn't even have to be New York--they could have gotten someone like Kyle Hebert, the old narrator for Dragon Ball Z.
Here's the deal: NBC paid TENS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS for these broadcasting rights. But they can't pay a real human to do voiceover?

Jim Fagan died in 2017, before AI vocal reproduction became popular.
James Earl Jones signed over his voice to AI in 2022.
He's been in a lot of films. Conan, an exorcist movie, lion king. Not all great, but I'd love to see his role brought back in a few.
