I was at a popular Dutch festival in my state that draws in 600k+ people a year and got hit by diversity shock. At least 1/3 of the people there were jeet Indians, half were some variant of Asian. It wasn’t just smatterings of couples or small families like the white and non jeet Asians either, it was multigenerational groups of 6-20. This is in a state where supposedly the entire Asian population is ~6% from the 2020 census. So either the census massively lied or the infinity immigration under Biden was far, far worse than the illegals the right put the spotlight on. Mass “legal” chain immigration is the real killer and both sides are in support of it.
Other typical tropes were on full display, every interracial couple was with an obese-morbidly obese white wahman. 1/3 of the white people were Reddit tier gross, 1/3 were boomer tourists who looked happy as can be about their imported retirement plan littering everywhere and the last 1/3 were the only people apparently trying to maintain and interact with their cultural heritage. This festival is very Dutch and was at least very clean, the last time I went was 2019 pre Covid however. Magically with the diversity came trash heaps and littering, to the point the locals now have trash bins on the edge of their yard and a sign asking them to not litter. It’s a weird feeling watching the culture of area erode over time, I honestly doubt the Dutch part of the festival will last another 20 years.
Edit: forgot to add the social media rot culture was all over, people were lining up to take selfies and instagram pics with flowers instead of actual trying to enjoy the point of the festival. It was hilarious watching millennial/ gen z women putting on long sleeves over their spring dress to hide their tattoos when they were posing in the flower beds. Also we really need to ban fat women from wearing spring dresses.
Hot take, tax obesity. Instantly solves a lot of society's problems.
Or at least stop subisidizing it. SNAP is paying for people to guzzle soda and junk food.
I think you'd be surprised to know most stores intentionally don't put the healthy food in their system correctly for the item to be purchased with SNAP. When I see the focus on what can be purchased, I always wonder why no one is upset vitamins, or vitamin shakes are legally supposed to be able to be purchased ... But a person chooses not to put it in the computer to be purchased. Follow that to soda. Someone put that item in the computer to be purchased.
When my kids were little I moved because of divorce. I went from stores that allowed vitamins, and pediatric drinks. To having to get a manager every single time. Don't forget how the Karen meme stops too many people from speaking up.
I think the sugar shit is being focused on intentionally. Taking something away is a negative, and has shock value. Adding the ability to be healthy would do more good. It's being ignored.
I’m of this opinion too. If you want to get diabetes and die at 40 that’s fine, but it shouldn’t be subsidized. We give out way too much SNAP, and it’s used too liberally, I’ve seen figures suggesting people on SNAP benefits eat more meat than the rest of the country because (ironically) they can afford it while we can’t
Everyone on welfare gets put on birth control. Now THAT would cause some long term demographic change.
I would argue fat people are more compliant and lazy than motivated. They would just double down on the fat and then demand protected status because they pay extra.
I think there's a significant chunk of the population that would stop being fat if we just removed all the poison from the food supply. Lots of people out there trying and failing because there's poison added to so many things that really ought to be healthy options but have been actively sabotaged.
Take yogurt for example. Should be just two ingredients right? Milk and active cultures. Now go look at all the plain yogurts at your local grocery store and see the staggering list of ingredients on most of them. Now expand that principle to basically everything in the grocery store. There are simple wins to be had here, but that doesn't line anyone's pockets.
Everything You're Eating Is Toxic, and Big Pharma Likes It That Way

Get rid of all social programs, free healthcare for emergencies and stop subsidizing unhealthy food. That would fix the problem, imo, without taxing. Most problems can actually be solved by a reduction of taxes rather than an increase in one.
