Not knowledgeable about hockey, but it seems like it could be possible that he crashed into the other player and then that arrested his upper body momentum, flinging out his legs.
Part of it - the body checking of the other guy - was definitely intentional, but I'm actually not sure the blade to the neck was.
To be clear, not saying it wasn't or couldn't have been intentional. And it's definitely a tragedy. And I think the dude played the victim, right? So even if it was an accident, fuck him. Similar to the recent Karmelo Anthony thing, he killed a dude, and then played the victim and pulled out the race card.
It barely even matters if it was intentional or not; a black dude killed a white dude, and somehow the black dude is the victim? That's not sustainable.
I am vastly knowledgeable about hockey. This is 100% intentional. It is impossible to accidentally do this. He has to throw his weight upwards, checking & missing would not do that. His entire body flies into the air.
I mean you can clearly see him looking straight at the player he murdered, shifting his weight to his right hip to prepare for the kick, and what really settles it is the way he flicks the skate to make sure he hits the neck.
If he just hits the chest or shoulder without that little flick at the end it could be inconclusive what the motives where, but that final action really settles it for me.

Straight up murder.
Correct. Anyone who has watched a significant amount of hockey and isn’t a cuck will tell you that this was murder.

I don't think the primary intention was murder.
But you are correct that the kick itself was intentional and premeditated, with all of the recklessness that it entails.
We are arguing over technicalities.
I'm saying there was clear intent to harm but not specifically to kill (but was obviously a reckless possibility).
You're arguing (as I understand it) that there was clear intent to kill by kicking towards the jugular/carotids.
