I admit I used to subscribe to their crossword puzzle app, years ago.
I won't lie. Those things are brilliantly written. They've been the global standard of crosswords for over a century for a reason.
They start the easiest on Monday, get harder every day until the experts-only Saturday puzzle, and the Sunday one is bigger, but about on par with a Thursday puzzle in terms of difficulty.
Have you tried Connections? Connections and the Crossword was the reason I got the app. Wordle and Spelling Bee are fun. And Sudoku is a nice standard to have.
The Crossword is filled with liberal clues so my eyes get exercise from eye-rolling
They are all games that are always updating to what the subscribers want. All are games they late easy to play while they are pooping or waiting for a bus. On top of that, the games don’t annoy the players with advertisements or begging for more money.
It’s exactly what anyone wants with any service or product.
Just FYI for those who are curious but don't want to give money to NYT, there's a limited free option
I use their game app everyday. The games are fun.

I don't understand the hate for it.
It's pretty much a given that they're cooking the books to defraud investors into keeping the corpse afloat.
For sure
It's 7.99 a month. So what's the math on that
As with most things gaming, cheap if you divide it over 100+ hours a month.
Of course because their games are actually fun (wonder if AAA will ever figure this out).
That's both hilarious, as well, as disappointing. The NYTimes needs to fail.
