I read feminism a bit differently. It says that women should positioned to do something even if men are better at it. They're not saying we are the same. They are saying we have to dole out to womeb whatever a eseen as the rewards without them having to do the work.
Feminism has always maintained that they can do anything men can do (meaning they see us as equals) except in cases where they are superior. This was their case for deserving more privileges.
So to acknowledge that men have extreme superiority across basically all sports would undermine nearly all types of feminism. From the radical to even the milquetoast, admitting that they are weak (and thereby in need of the bonds of "patriarchy" or just men for protection) goes against their stated ideologies in all forms.
