It's interesting, how uninteresting the modern writing is. I know next to nothing about DMC. It was never my thing. But I read the 2005 writing and it grabs my attention. It's interesting, and it gets me thinking, while also sounding like realistic exposition. How someone would explain how they came to their perspective.

The modern writing may be gag how someone might talk in the current year, but it doesn't make me want to know more. It's so dismissive and belittling. "Oh, this ancient hero had an epiphany and saved the world from his own, evil kind. Big deal." Why would anyone care about a story presented in such a manner? It's actively sabotaging itself.

Netflix show be like "the demon of legend that went against his demonic instincts in order to save humanity should be dismissed as unimportant. but the demon "refugees" that have contributed nothing to the human world and sacrificed nothing for the human world, and are trying to guilt trip humans for having a reasonable prejudice against their kind and are shaming humans in to accepting them in the human world? THOSE are the demons we need to respect and save"

those "demon refugees" werent a thing in the games just to let you know

Demon "refugees" in the context of the western, Christian version of hell and demons makes absolutely zero sense because those kinds of demons don't have their own will and can't form families or whatever bullshit they're pushing. They are the literal embodiment of evil whose sole purpose is to torture and punish sinners in hell.

...but the demon "refugees" that have contributed nothing to the human world...

Not just contribute nothing but, at least based on that clip that was posted, it looks like they may be - however unwillingly - in the bad guy's gang.

They do nothing against the other gangster demons, then whine about racism being just as bad as toxic Hell that kills you if you breath. Gotta love Modern Writing™.

I'm getting literal chills from the DMC3 intro monologue just reading it as I remember the amazing organ starting. HIGHLY recommended to check out at least the intro cutscene somewhere.

The modern writing is trying to not care. All of that millennial lefty writing is trying to "deconstruct" while ignoring making anything cool for the fans.

opted for a ps2 version, don't trust a 'remaster' not to fuck it up. I forgot how good that opening really was.

Literally says “bla bla bla” clearly the writers don’t care about the story they themselves are adapting. I’d never “bla bla bla” an adaption of a video game I was working on even if I hated it or of it was as retarded as resident evil.

It always feels like a mandatory job requirement is for these people to either have never watched/played the source material or actively hate it.

you should check out the actual opening

sorry for the shit video quality, I opted for the PS2 version over a 'remaster,' because we all know how those turn out...
