If we can readily determine that you are not a citizen, then "due process" has already taken place.
The issue is that the administration could just claim they determined a citizen isn't actually a citizen and deport them. Maybe you look similar and have the same name.
But what these propagandists don't tell you is these deported gang members were given the opportunity to claim they were citizens and get a hearing, delaying their deportation.
They didn't falsely claim to be citizens probably because they're not whiny little bitches. Like I have more respect for these murderers than the people that come through 5 other safe countries then whine about how they're so scared and need asylum - and then go back and vacation in their home country.
People without principles will do what they want. As others have already said, look at the treatment of the January 6th political prisoners.
What they're after is the pretense that what they are doing is ok. They don't care if it's legal, they don't care if it's ethical, they don't care if it's moral. They just want to say, "see? You deserved it."
They've already decided what's going to happen, everything else is working backwards from there to justify it.
