This is typical of even the center left now. I'm watching John Correra of Active Self Protection talk about how the attacker being killed by police is a "tragedy" and "he put the coin in the jukebox" as if it's just a natural and neutral result.
No.
The defender, police officer, or victim shooting their attacker who is using lethal force is a heroic action that should be praised. The fact that he died is not neutral. It is justice because he attempted to kill innocent people.
And I will remind you: most of the Leftists (not John) making this shit-hole argument are also saying that Luigi Mangioni going up behind a CEO and shooting him in the head is somehow moral or ethical.
They value murders more than innocent people, and significantly more than someone who has some amount of money that's more than them.
I think a lot of people have this idea that you defend yourself with equal weaponry. As if the police or anyone defending themselves should have only used bladed weapons, in this case, like it's a duel. That police using a deadly weapon like a gun is unfair, and that unfairness makes it evil.
And leftist are getting a tad too obvious with the friend/enemy distinction bit. Even normies are starting to say, "geez guy we disgree with the same guys, but you can't just kill people."
It’s probably a severe lack of reality intruding on their fantasies. You know what shit is hard to watch? A mothafuckin knife fight on liveleak. Or a pitbull taking a full grown mexican.
A severe lack of reality is the supreme cause of leftism.
