The only way to save the industry would be to fire everyone who either advocated for it or benefitted from it. I think this is too pessimistic of an outlook. The current AAA companies can all die off while new growth from indies and AA studios can rise to replace them. Even the wildfire doesn't completely destroy the forest in order for new growth to happen, it just clears out the old but there's still a forest.
