Assassin’s Creed Shadows Suffers Massive Black Market Leak, Spoilers and Gameplay Streams Hit the Internet as Ubisoft Faces Anot...
Assassin's Creed Shadows has suffered a massive black market leak that saw physical copies of the game sold to players early.
Black market, you say.
“Hey, I’m looking for my bike.”
Strategic leak? If they have internal numbers predicting a gigantic flop, then leaking the game themselves provides some cover for bad sales.
Probably. And then they’ll use it to also justify their stupid anti piracy bullshit.
You're saying someone.....stole it? Anybody know where Yasuke was last night?
It’s incredible that Ubisoft took the one Assassin’s Creed concept that everyone had wanted for such a long time and turned it into a constant comedy of unforced errors. If there was any sort of competency and passion left, “Assassin’s Creed in late Sengoku period Japan” would have been the thing to revitalize the series, but instead it’s become the ultimate example of everything wrong with AAA development.
FromSoft has the absolutely most golden opportunity to revive the Tenchu franchise from the dead and dab all over this grave.
They've already got the skeleton of it from Sekiro, just need more arcadey fun.
After trying Assassin's Creedtm Shadowstm on my favorite piracy website I decided it was worth the money! It was such an immersive game with a fully realized world that I really felt a part of playing as the might samurai Yasuke!
Is that what they fucking expect? There's no way they leaked this unintentionally. Not even Ubidoft is that incompetent, right? They sure haven't had leaks like Rockstar in the past at least.
All they had to do from the beginning was make a game where you're a ninja in feudal Japan and maybe have segments where you play as a ronin samurai to break up the flow. It's the easiest concept you can possibly have for a game about an assassin.
And is it worse than we thought it would be pr about meets those expectations?
Given the incompetence they've been known for lately, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be some guerrilla marketing attempt to generate buzz ("guys! It's actually really GOOD!") that just blew up in their faces.
