The left has wanted Idris Elba as Bond for years.
Unironically, one of the few black choices that wouldn't be entirely hated on principle by most people. Because at least he has the the presence and reputation that are similar to a Bond like character. The same way Michael Clark Duncan was able to play Kingpin.
So of course they won't pick him. Such little heavy measures like that are beyond the Left even if it would boil that frog quite well towards their ultimate goal. It'll have to be a dreadlocked rapper that couldn't blend in anywhere.
