There was a girl he was dating at the time it happened who was a very obvious BPD manic e-hoe. She wasn't a major name, just a generic SJW Leftist.
So the obvious connection between him deciding to arbitrarily ban Gamergate off the site (and not all the other movements over the years) and her existence after his years of NoGF is we all assume to have happened there.
And given that mootykins didn't go on to completely disavow everyone, sell out everyone involved, and become a born again Leftie once leaving further lends credence to him being influenced by her instead of having his own change of heart.
