They paid Politico and Politico wrote articles on Gamergate, but that doesn't mean they paid Politico to write articles on Gamergate.
They may have been paying them to write articles on Syria or Tulsi or whatever.
I mean they probably did pay them for Gamergate articles, but this isn't evidence of it.
I doubt there were any direct orders.
The smart way to do this is to find people who already agree with you anyway and then just 'support' them to write the things they would write anyway, just more and to a wider audience. You won't need to explicitly tell them to do anything, so there won't be any orders for anyone to find later. The recipients of your largesse will be grateful for your funding, rather than consider themselves sellouts or employees. And if ever you don't agree anymore, you can just pull the funding again.

Look man, the timing couldn't be any more coincidental. At that point you call that serendipity - e.g. there's SOMETHING happening there that's a bit more nefarious than it being a "coincidence".
Money is fungible, but I'm inclined to agree. This is jumping at shadows or trying to force a narrative for which there is not yet evidence.

I suppose people clicked on it because they recognized the thumb nail? I do not follow Grummz, so I did not. I also didn't read that one because the title is just an old adage I've read a thousand times before. Nor did I use a direct link because this sub often complains that I should just use a screen cap instead, and follow up with a source. Not to mention the criticism I've received in the past for using catchy titles opposed to descriptive ones.
Can I win for losing now?
Using archive sites is best practice. Screencaps can be faked and live links can go down for any number of reasons.
