Imagine if they would’ve had that game be a Han Solo game that takes place before the OT and you could draw inspiration from the late 70s trilogy or the Crispin Trilogy. They are so obsessed with pushing females in to Star Wars
Do you remember the Expanded Universe books that had the Han Solo Correllian Trilogy? I think it took place about 15 years after ROTJ and was one of the first EU books that took place after ROTJ.
I have at least one book of that trilogy but haven’t read it yet. Truce at Bakura takes place minutes after ROTJ and Heir to the Empire 5 years after. I still have a bit of EU to read and quite a few comics
Its far worse than that, I notice almost all form of entertainment media is pushing for a default female lead.
A default female lead, black love interest, and White male villain.
They replace successful white and male leads like clockwork. Geralt is out for Ciri. Yotei is coming for Tsushima. Spider Gwen is coming to replace Spider-Man. It never happens in reverse; once a role has been “diversified”, it never goes back.
But original “diverse” properties reliably flop. So the only way to achieve successful diversity is to let straight white male characters establish popular new IP first so that diverse characters have something to steal and parasite. Even when a studio “gives us what we want”, it’s only as a stepping stone before redistributing that success to a more deserving “diversified” group.
Agreed, its absolutely digusting how they hijack every IP by saying the name or title is just a "mantle" and thus its justified to write out the male hero for something gay.
Shadow of the Empire is the closest game you would get to that.
