I don't know about "popular" but it seems highly unlikely that we'll get in a naval war with China any time soon.

I dont think it will be hot, but I do absolutely foresee more ships operating around them, helping out the likes of Vietnam, The Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan (all of whom have been wanting to get closer alliances with the US and investing in more modern systems). Plus Australia has been upgrading their navy and air force to help with the deterrence.
