I wonder to what extent Christianity is a dead religion being propped up by grifters. How many “Christians” don’t even go to church? How many “Christian churches” are essentially anti-Christian progressive charity scams?
Every local Christian church has two common characteristics: they are all aggressively pro immigration, and they are all mostly empty on Sundays.
According to Richard Barris at Big Data Poll, Christian feelings, ethics, values, and traditions are growing very strong. However, trust in the Church has never been lower.
People are becoming more Christian, but more Christians are opposing their own Churches. To me, this smells like an old-time revival.
I guess I was more focused on people thinking you have to attend church to be a good Christian. The church is very valuable you are right, they can help the community and provide advice.
I don't know where you are at my man, but all of my local churches are usually quite full every Sunday, and would be absolutely packed if they didn't offer 3+ alternative services throughout the week for people who can't make Sundays. Not mega churches either, but ramshackle buildings maintained through sheer power of faith and belief instead of money laundering.
I won't say its a majority, but there is a very large amount of Christians out there doing their thing across our country that truly believe in what they are doing as the correct Christian way.
The problem is how many of them are lost in their faith to the point of not being reasonable. I was arguing with an idiot in this sub just a few weeks ago that "its okay to get your wife killed, your daughter almost raped and traumatized, God will reward your good behavior for trying!" No need to think about the greater complexities of human life, just "say Jesus and die, it'll all work out!"

Church is unnecessary if you are a Christian. It's there to guide the people struggling. And if you dont struggle with keeping faith it's useless .
Church as the center of the community is theoretically quite valuable. It serves the opposite purpose when captured by non-Christians, though.
