I couldn't find the exact paper that chart is from but here's a similar one where you can see performance graphs and the top percentage of women just barely overlap the bottom performing men https://apps.dtic.mil/sti/tr/pdf/ADA302557.pdf
While women can be excellent pilots, they will never rank the top 10% of applicants. If there is a qualified female pilot applicant, there are literally a hundred men who can do it better.
Still begs the question why you would want a woman who can only do EMS in the role when you can have a man who can do EMS and carry a roll of hose or break down a door if needed.
Let alone the fact that a significant part of the EMS role is lifting incapacitated fatasses off the ground and onto a stretcher and into the meatwagon.
What is the percentage of women in firefighting to begin with? I’m sure that those firefighting shows vastly over represent the numbers
The short answer is: If they don't lower the fitness requirements for women, then women can't be firefighters.
There may be some freakish, high T women (lesbians) who can meet the fitness standard briefly but they can't last out a career of any length.
So any woman firefighter is a diversity hire. Same for fighter pilots.
If you have a physical fitness requirement that will filter out any percentage of young men, it will filter out all women.

Wow several tests have 90%+ of women fail before and still 90%+ fail after training, versus 0% and 0% for men.
Why for fighter pilots?
G forces.

Reaction Time, Spacial Reasoning, and Heart size.
All three very important for fighter pilots, all three areas where sexual dimorphism is very pronounced.
Most women in firefighting are actually in adjacent roles like EMS and Rescue.

That makes sense
