I was checking my bank account because I had family members who said they were going to send me money, and I saw that the IRS sent me over a thousand dollars and I had no idea why. Apparently, my mom told me that the IRS said on the news that they were finally going through the backlog of misfiled stimulus checks from COVID and sending them out, so I guess thank you IRS. Just curious if anyone else randomly got money from the IRS, because I saw that it showed up in my bank as a tax refund and got really confused because I already got my federal refund this year.

I want it on the record that the IRS is the opposite of funny.
But I'm glad they sent you money, congrats! Merry Christmas!
Thankfully the government is there in a timely manner to flips pages help you through the government-forced buisness shutdowns of 2020 and 2021. Over a cold. Of which they lied about the origin to cover their ass.
For additional lulz, that $1000 supposed to arrive back then is only worth $820 of its 2020 value.
And that’s if you believe the official numbers.
Wait... isn't that like 18% inflation over 4 years?
That's 4.5% per year! Fuck. Most people live paycheck to paycheck. What do you even do when your purchasing power lessens by almost 20%? How are people surviving?
That's the ''official'' inflation numbers used. Reality is much higher.
Here gas prices doubled and grocerie prices increased by 50%-75%.
Isn't everyone becoming poor extremely quickly, then? Why aren't there riots?
The bread and circus are still going, so no.
50% increase in groceries in less than 4 years is extremely alarming, bro. That doesn't happen anywhere in the world without it becoming the national point of discussion.
It is a national point of discussion despite the media's best effort to gaslight the public, and largely contributed to the election of Donald Trump in the USA.
It is also on way to get the Conservatives in Canada a large majority next year, with the potential to have the Bloc Quebecois as official opposition and Liberals falling third party.
Are you in California?
In Quebec. Electricity costs being low is our saving grace.
That’s great! Nothing for me lol
They told me to fuck off because I made too much money for a handout.
Lame duck Biden shoveling another couple hundred bil out the door before he gets kicked out.
Keep a papertrail of that money because it's more likely than naught someone else in the IRS will come looking for it and try to fuck you over.
Sidenote: you think the IRS is dotting their T's and crossing their eyes with the Trump Admin inbound?
Most likely
...okay, now I gotta check...
If it were the CRA (canadian version). Id say hold onto the money as they would likely claw it back.
The federal and provincial governments forced everything to shut down for what was it 2-4 weeks? during covid. While walmart and the massive conglomerates got to stay open.
America got the stimulus checks, canada, we got rolled into employment insurance, given the money.
3 years later, they decided that they want all the money back lmao. I have no job, I cant pay it. Fucking retarded idiots. But they basically got every person to pay that money back.
While letting these massive corporations swindle the CRA for billions of dollars, along with the criminals filing massive tax fraud.
I guess its easier to go after the common taxpayer than it is to go after corporations and criminals ROFL. Useless incompetent fucks.
