I was checking my bank account because I had family members who said they were going to send me money, and I saw that the IRS sent me over a thousand dollars and I had no idea why. Apparently, my mom told me that the IRS said on the news that they were finally going through the backlog of misfiled stimulus checks from COVID and sending them out, so I guess thank you IRS. Just curious if anyone else randomly got money from the IRS, because I saw that it showed up in my bank as a tax refund and got really confused because I already got my federal refund this year.

Wait... isn't that like 18% inflation over 4 years?
That's 4.5% per year! Fuck. Most people live paycheck to paycheck. What do you even do when your purchasing power lessens by almost 20%? How are people surviving?
That's the ''official'' inflation numbers used. Reality is much higher.
Here gas prices doubled and grocerie prices increased by 50%-75%.
Isn't everyone becoming poor extremely quickly, then? Why aren't there riots?
The bread and circus are still going, so no.
50% increase in groceries in less than 4 years is extremely alarming, bro. That doesn't happen anywhere in the world without it becoming the national point of discussion.
Are you in California?
In Quebec. Electricity costs being low is our saving grace.
