Whenever you archive a tweet, you only get that tweet (thanks a lot, Musk), and nothing else. Example:
https://x.com/SurreyPolice/status/1863903221502099944
Strangely enough, you can solve that by replacing the username, in this case SurreyPolice, with 'i'. Then it will apparently use a logged in browing session to archive, and you will get at least more. So:
https://x.com/i/status/1863903221502099944
That will make the archive look like:
Ghost archive seems to do well with Twitter links as well.
I just archived your first link and got replies: https://ghostarchive.org/archive/WzeuX
Thanks for that too. Ghostarchive direct from X without the I change in account.
Good to know!
Also, the community police in Surrey are walking about armed this year? WTF?!?!
I thought maybe it was Surrey, Vancouver, British Columbia.
But the unis are definitely Britbong.
The problem is Ghost Archive acts weird, especially with pictures. If it's about pictures use thread reader then archive that.
thanks for the PSA
Might be worth informing the folks over on Nitter's GitHub. There is still an active discussion on accessing how to access tweets from a logged in session without needing to have a farm of accounts that can be taken down at any time.
many thanks!
Why does the UK suddenly need machine guns to protect Christmas markets?
And why are they banned from talking about it? (comments disabled)
