Anyone know why this is? I mean it's 100% true; every girl I've ever dated loved true crime books and movies- even the ones that weren't really readers.
I think true crime is OK, but don't understand the universal appeal with women.
Part of it is hybristophilia. They legitimately are super turned on by serial killers and criminals of all kinds, its pure porn to them. Talk to those girls and you'll find they have "favorites" that they are clearly infatuated with (one of the biggest podcasts for it is literally "My Favorite Murder"), and all the "I feel for the victims" is steeped in not looking bad and maintaining an image of progressivism (not shitting on hookers).
That's why its always serial killers are cults at the top, and not stuff like Bomb Collar or DC Sniper, because its a place where big strong men are taking what they want, manipulating people to their bidding, and generally being the Alphaest of Alpha males without a care about anyone else. If you look at which of those categories are the most "popular" after the pure media reasoning (biggest numbers, wildest story) its often the super attractive ones.
And all of that is because its literally "safe horny" for women. Its all the most fucked up fantasies they have sexually, being played out with plausible deniability (which is why they don't just watch fucking porn, people will judge them for it) and no actual danger to their wellbeing.

Barely even knew I existed, until the day I lost my cool and slammed the cash register closed, kicked over a display and told the boss to go fuck himself and his shitty job.
