Ah the correction of history, you love to see it.
It doesn't seem like they are dragging Yasuke's name through the mud, as much as it's and explanation of what the weird American Leftists are doing in their country.
And to be clear, actual Yasuke didn't do anything.
"actual Yasuke" didn't even exist .
I doubt that. The Portuguese never had a single black slave once in Japan, that may have been purchased by a member of the Japanese elite? That seems well into the category of probable events.
there's only 2 mentions of Yasuke, one was by Jesuits that were known to make shit up and the other was by ONE of the 70 different versions of the Nobunaga Chronicles in Japan that was written hundreds of years after Yasuke supposedly existed (whilst all the other versions of the Nobunaga Chronicles does not mention Yasuke and were actually written at the time and not hundreds of years later.)
Yasuke does not exist in any other writings at the time.
There's more evidence that Santa Claus existed than Yasuke. Also interesting how no one can tell you where the very visible black man in Japan, went after Honnoji temple. There's no mention of him anywhere.
Of cause Santa is real!
He's the patron saint of prostitutes! Wait, does that make him the Saint of onlythots in the modern era?
Are we talking about Saint Nicholas, because I think that's much better documented, as opposed to Santa.
I don't know that a visible black man would be so important that he'd be documented everywhere, as much as a passing: "Huh, neat."
A black man would be a very unusual sighting in feudal Japan . I think it would be much more documented especially if he was supposedly a servant that carried the swords of one of the greatest warlords. . But he isn't even mentioned in the writings and poems of said warlord himself.
I'm not saying it wouldn't be unusual, but I don't think it's that notable compared to the warlords actual accomplishments.
For example, when Lewis & Clark ventured out west, Clark's slave was a very interesting curiosity, but it didn't factor much into the expedition from the native's perspective.
The former wouldn't be surprising, the latter I'd expect to see some evidence of, unless ironically the 'we wuz samurai n sheeit' crowd is right and there were so many blacks in Japan it wasn't even notable.
There is more to "we wuz samurai" than a bunch of blacks being in Japan. They argue the original Japanese were black. IDK when people started being white in their cosmology.
I just don't think servants are significantly well documented.
You can't beat Ubisoft taking the name of "Black people" and dragging it through the mud while calling everyone else racists.
The Klan put on many hoods, the SJW/DEI one has to be their greatest way of hiding their true selves yet.
Most of their group don't even know that they are in it!
Ah yes, the poor, victimized black people who definitely can't blame any of their current circumstances or reputation on their own behavior and culture....
Blacks, on average, behave worse than other groups, but the politicians who bring chaos to their communities by being pro-crime aren't doing them any favors.
It's them under the hoods!
They don't care about the fact that they're hypocrites either. That doesn't mean that we should stop pointing out that they are. It just means that we should stop thinking that this is the silver bullet.
I say this affectionately: if you step back and look at the last 20 years of internet you can actually see the development of weeb culture growing from "my uncle who works at nintendo" levels to "my Japanese wife who I live with here in Japan" levels.
My only question is have you reached peak weebery when this is a lie or when it's true?
So Yasuke will be a black day in gaming history?
