I love how the name of Yasuke is getting dragged through the mud

"actual Yasuke" didn't even exist .
I doubt that. The Portuguese never had a single black slave once in Japan, that may have been purchased by a member of the Japanese elite? That seems well into the category of probable events.
there's only 2 mentions of Yasuke, one was by Jesuits that were known to make shit up and the other was by ONE of the 70 different versions of the Nobunaga Chronicles in Japan that was written hundreds of years after Yasuke supposedly existed (whilst all the other versions of the Nobunaga Chronicles does not mention Yasuke and were actually written at the time and not hundreds of years later.)
Yasuke does not exist in any other writings at the time.
There's more evidence that Santa Claus existed than Yasuke. Also interesting how no one can tell you where the very visible black man in Japan, went after Honnoji temple. There's no mention of him anywhere.
Of cause Santa is real!
He's the patron saint of prostitutes! Wait, does that make him the Saint of onlythots in the modern era?
Are we talking about Saint Nicholas, because I think that's much better documented, as opposed to Santa.
I don't know that a visible black man would be so important that he'd be documented everywhere, as much as a passing: "Huh, neat."
A black man would be a very unusual sighting in feudal Japan . I think it would be much more documented especially if he was supposedly a servant that carried the swords of one of the greatest warlords. . But he isn't even mentioned in the writings and poems of said warlord himself.
The former wouldn't be surprising, the latter I'd expect to see some evidence of, unless ironically the 'we wuz samurai n sheeit' crowd is right and there were so many blacks in Japan it wasn't even notable.
There is more to "we wuz samurai" than a bunch of blacks being in Japan. They argue the original Japanese were black. IDK when people started being white in their cosmology.
I just don't think servants are significantly well documented.
