5.56x45 is one of the cheapest rifle ammo you will get.
Maybe for a 30-something /k/ommando with an established career, not some mewling faggot who barely left high school. Unless, of course, he got assistance from a helpful "mentor" named Nat A. Phed on his private shooting range.
That shot was barely 130 yards, it was not a difficult shot.
For a center-of-mass shot, sure, but not a fucking head shot. Least of all with irons. From a shithead with corrective eyeglasses. Don't downplay how we were literally an inch from an alternate timeline.
While the gun-grabbers are bleating to ban the AR-15 (again), I still don't know if the AR used was a poorfag Palmetto or a kitted-out FBI special.
In this instance, being a Marine with that level of BRM is a win. I agree with Giz, a 130-ish headshot isn't that difficult. And 5.56 isn't that expensive.
Thankyou for saying this, this guy was no hurr durr rainbow antifa gunman. This man had exceptional aim. At 130 yards on a football-sized, moving target who also got the drop just right, and if true, with iron sights?!?? This man had sniper training, I don't give a shit what anyone says. And at 20, theres no way he wasn't untrained.
Target wasn't moving. Literally standing still at a podium.
Yes, you can shoot with iron sights. It's not that hard, especially at around 100 yards.
Bullet drop at 100 yards with a 16" barrel on a 5.56x45 round is miniscule.
You know a lot of American kids learn to shoot early, right? They also can get private training on shooting (as if you needed significant private training for basic rifle marksmanship). Anyway, here's a world-class American 9 year old competitive shooter
Well, I do .22 comp shoots at 50 yards, so I disagree (respectfully, of course). At 130 yards on a hot day he will be contending with the mirage effect, lying prone on a hot tin roof, under intense pressure to aim in a short time window, while other snipers are literally pointed his direction. He also had to estimate the range and dial in by feel for any potential bullet drop, which does matter IMO as millimeters did (as we can see) matter, barrel heat can also play a factor.... Theres so many factors at play, and he only had, realistically, one attempt. Is it possible he had zero training and managed to make everything perfectly come together through sheer skill? Sure. Is it probable? Call me a sceptic.
Crooks was rejected from his high school rifle team for being "a bad shooter", so it really makes you wonder what spurred on his sudden improvement since then.
Okay, two things.

It's still the cheapest ammo regardless. And yes, with irons. Gents, a 100 yard shot isn't that hard with a rifle.
I know you're trained to eat crayons and CLP, but the rest of us have to eat food for nourishment, and that shit isn't getting cheaper with inflation.

It's as cheap as you're gonna get. It really doesn't take that much training.

Edit: More info has come out.
