They only just found out that Biden is that bad with the dementia because of his fuck up at the NATO summit

Minor correction:
They only just found out that Biden is that bad with the dementia because [the legacy media finally reported on] his fuck up at the NATO summit. [And they've now been given orders to think this.]

That's the most absurd part. This could have continued, if the machine hadn't thrown ol' Joe under the bus.

Even with all his recent fuckups, those same normies would still be saying how great he is, if the media hadn't told them it's no longer Biden O'Clock.

I wouldn't say unthinking, more like not paying attention. normies care about living their lives by and large, as they should. however this means thinking about politics is not the path of least resistance, so politics often goes ignored. that's why so many people just believe whatever the TV man says, they never think to put the time in to investigate these things.

This is why manufacturing consent is critical in a Democracy™.

I consider attention a key component of thought. If you aren't attentive you aren't actually thinking, just stumbling from one reaction to the next like an animal.

but attention to what? There's a billion things we can pay attention to. Our friends, families, health, favorite games or shows, the micro-economics of dirt oval racing, etc etc etc. My point is that they choose to pay attention to things other than politics.

It's a little of both. I know very smart people with highly technical jobs who are political ignoramuses simply because they don't want to spend brain cycles on political topics. The smarter ones at least do not express strong opinions either way. They might fit into your definition, but far more people are either low IQ or criminally ignorant. Political philosophy is not so difficult that "living your life" gives you an excuse not to be aware. I must assume people like that are largely unthinking until something pokes at them. That something usually being an emotionally manipulative news report.

Media manipulation is very much real. And absolutely terrifying when you start to think how long it's been going on.

The really crazy part is, putting aside our feelings of Biden and his dementia, uh...we're seeing a coup against the "duly elected" (hahaha) President of the United States, in real time, on TV.

I wish our system had any sort of validity. But we just keep couping ourselves. We do not have a legitimate government, and haven't for over a century, probably. Our shadow leaders just don't generally physically kill the couped leaders. But we keep having bloodless coups that no one even sees.

You two hit the nail on the head. It's been fun poking fun at Biden's dementia gaffs more openly than we were allowed for the past four years, but I hope the normiecons and grillers can see how we're all being manipulated by the media that runs the country. That's the real story here.

Hahahahaha.

:(

That's the real story here.

Yup. I've been shouting it from the rooftops since this all started. Some people get it, but a lot don't. And, I understand why they don't, and can't even blame them, really. I said it in another thread: This is utter propaganda...but it's true propaganda, it conforms to reality, and it conforms to rightwing biases. Unless you're really paying attention, or have a finally tuned bullshit radar - both things normies by definition generally lack - you're totally primed to believe this.
