Honestly, I just like games that let the characters defy the narrator (see also the Stanley parable, there is no game, etc). There's something fun about it.
If you liked that and have a webcomic gap to fill I can recommend Unsounded as another comic that is both horrific and wholesome, still updating regularly and very nearly at its grand conclusion. The art at the very start is very "webcomic" but over time it gets really high quality.

Oh yeah I remember that one from an old Steam Next Fest. Yandere VN meets SCP horror, with very British humor. It was a unique flavor that's for sure.
