I wonder how they'll handle the "mystery baby" aspect of Superman's arrival and adoption; back in the Depression/Dust Bowl days, someone leaving a baby on a farmer's doorstep was about as unremarkable as people dropping cats on them. The authorities wouldn't have asked too many questions if the couple was willing to adopt the kid anyway; it's not like some midnight mystery hobess would be easy to find.
Now there'd be snoopy-doos sniffing around everywhere, and the Kents had better make sure to hide all trace of any extraterrestrial stuff real good, or destroy it ...
I really don't like how... documented everything is nowadays. It doesn't seem to do anything to stop actual crime, but it certainly does punish otherwise law abiding citizens who try to do anything off the books.
You know I've never really thought about that aspect. You are absolutely correct. They should say they found him in a dumpster near a prom venue, that's a more modern solution.
