Unfortunately I somewhat expected this, if not only an immigrant population with a more militant faith is getting lighter treatment by authorities and Christianity is constantly getting neutered by authorities even including high ranking religious figures, some are going to convert.
This'll be worse for the authorities in general as unlike Christianity which they hollowed out from the inside over decades, Islam is a foreign theology so any attempt to do the same will be branded heresy and, well we all know how Islam deals with heretics...

Yeah, we're literally seeing that right now with the stabbing of the priest and bishop, where the NSW government (and the media, in turn) is blaming the victim, and actively claiming the attacker was "incited by social media posts", and that they will punish the rioters who tried to lynch him "with the full force of the law"...
No comment about punishment for the attacker himself, though. But the Christian victims..? Yeah, "we'll" make sure they're punished for wrongthink, of course...
