The market for non-pozzed, mtx-free games is out there. The AAA companies have been permanently infected with DEI to the point it's basically impossible for them to recover.
The Korean gaming industry is the most predatory one out there. They would put battle passes inside of battle passes with the only way to progress being a gacha. They use the hot women to bait guys into whaling on their games hard and always have.
There is no good side to their version of the industry getting popular. The Ugly Characters are not the only battlefront of the Western Industry going to shit.
I wish this wasn't exclusive to PS. This is the first game I would even consider pre-ordering in years. It isn't tempting enough to get me to buy another console though, especially since Sony lost me when they decided they had the right to install rootkits on our PCs.
Anybody who ever played Korean MMOs understands how insane it is that Koreans are somehow making the games that are most respectful of their players right now.
I played many back in the early 2000s and a lot of them had some rather risqué moments. Some of those loading screens in Raganrok Online were flat out softcore porn. Granted, they were fan submissions, but they CHOSE to put them there. Ah fuck.. that really takes me back.... Grinding Poison Spores for DAYS to the tune of the same 8 Papa Roach songs on loop. It's a wonder I still have any sanity left to speak of. Now whenever I hear even a nano second of Cut My Life Into Pieces, I have a little bit of a Nam Flashback.
Koreans have always been 200% in terms of hot characters. That's been how they've survived this long despite everything else about their games being designed to punish you.
So this isn't even shocking on any level besides the fact that its actually going International.
“We’re not sure if we’ll be releasing DLC, but we’re working on free updates like additional outfits.”
“The only exception to this is if we create collaborative outfits with third-party IPs, those may be sold for a fee,” clarified the producer.
So as long as the outfit isn't a promotional one with another IP (starts thinking of a Yor outfit) then you won't have to pay for them. They don't have DLC plans YET so that may depend on how well it sells.
Honestly.. i want this to do good and rake in money to show that beauty and/or sexiness sells. Wouldnt mind like a pack of 10 more outfits for like 2 dollars.
Game looks kinda tacky tbh, but I wish them the best. Like, I like eye candy as much as the next guy, but there reaches a point where it's just gratuitous. I don't know, I need at least some subtlety. Nier did it great. It was there, but it wasn't constantly in your face. Too much and you just get numb to it, which sucks.

...for the legacy of their franchises as much as for the players...
Ironically, it can be a big money maker if corrupt executives would just put their greed aside for once and prioritize customers over shareholders.
The koreans gave us the freemium shit mmo genre, and are as mobile trash obsessed as the japanese. This dev is unfortunately not their standard.

Korean film is doing pretty good non woke shit too.
If only the country would band together and take the Kpop freaks out behind the barn

It originally was slated for PC but they got an exclusivity deal with Sony.
Isn't it coming to PC in teh future? If not then I might actually have to look for a ps5 second hand or something.
Hell, I don't own a ps5 either, and I might buy it and never play it, just to encourage the industry this is the way to go...
Don't. I believe in rewarding good behavior so I'd love to support the devs but they chose exclusivity for money. Let them enjoy the consequences.
I see both sides of that one, honestly, but fair point all the same.

Clarification in the article:

Big difference from being nickle and dimed.
I couldn’t give a shit about clothes in a video game. I’m not a woman.
You put on armor for stats, no matter how dumb it looks. Whether they charge $.01 or $1 or $10 for a pair of in game pants affects me 0.
damn...I don't even own a ps5, and I might have to buy this one just to encourage the guy to keep going...
You could always buy the game without buying the system.
exactly what I was saying, lol.
