As a NoScript user, my first thought is...holy shit, this website blows chunks.
Secondly, NoScipt aside, the design sucks ass.
It's self-report too, so the data is useless.
And doesn't allow any sort of sorted ratings. Not that there's even a big enough data set to make it worthwhile.
And half the games are just asking for you to report your experience. Low effort. Low IQ. Sad.
Each rating was created by surveying hundreds of gamers. And represents the average amount of racism, gender discrimination, violence towards others, crude humour and controlled substance conversation experienced while playing online.
Dude, if they ever invent something that lets you punch someone through the internet...these pussies are on the list.
Remember, though, we're the puritan authoritarians. "Crude humor" my ass.
Well they're obviously hoping for feedback from gamers like us about the level of toxicity their audience is likely to encounter when playing these games. To make the crowd-sourcing even more democratic, you don't even have to make an account to add your own ratings. Not that anybody on this forum should perceive this as any kind of . . . opportunity.
Connected with MelaninGaming too, just fyi. And they're putting out a petition to try and enforce something like this through the ESRB. Which I'm guessing they're doing with the hopes for an easy consultant gig/handout.
The Toxicity Rating was created to inform gamers and parents of what kind of content they can expect to encounter while playing online. And call attention to the fact that the gaming community desperately needs change to be an inclusive safe space for all who play.
Here's the thing folks: It's interactive. You can add your ratings and comments to different games and their online communities based on 6 categories: Racism, Gender Discrimination, Violence, Sexual Content, Crude Humor and drug talk.
This format is clearly open to abuse, and I strongly discourage anyone on this forum from going to this website, where you don't even have to make an account in order to submit your own ratings, and add comments.
None of these have gender discrimination or racism maxed out.
What an utter disappointment. Guess I'll keep to single player games or multiplayer where I don't actually have the ability to interact with others aside from the gameplay itself.
Aaaah, I'm legit cracking up. OP, you're right about being open to abuse. You can just choose "yes" to everything, rate it "extreme," and then put "NIGGER" as the comment, for example.

Certainly not.
I am not in the process of saying Animal Crossing is EXTREME on all counts, or leaving the comment NIGGER on it.
Nope.
I'm definitely not gonna submit bullshit reports about woke piles of shit. Nope, not at all.

Thanks for reminding me I don't hate the ESRB enough.
Gubmint can suck my cock.

And definitely don't poison the well regarding woke games that have Sweet Baby Inc's grubby fingerprints all over them.

I'm dying.
Bully Hunters 2.0 is what I keep hearing.
So, I can repeatedly tank videogames from ESG companies?
we need things to be more toxic so these creatures die immediately when exposed
Trolling the site is fun, yes, but I hope it takes off and becomes the new Metacritic. Think of how easy it would be to find great games to play!
Everyone is racist. Shocker.
