The only way you would go back to 100% of American jobs being in America, or close to 100%, is if you completely remove the internet. Unfortunately that won't happen unless there's another world war.
Well, let's take physical jobs for a start. Digital is indeed a whole other monster, but we could easily still stop massive physical outsourcing, or hiring illegals when you don't outsource.
This is a bit “whatabout-y” given that we’re mostly talking physical manufacturing and production-type jobs here…
Those have very little to do with the internet, and almost everything to do with supply chains, globalization and most importantly wages and working conditions…
That “trend” predates the mainstream internet by a few decades at least…
