They just released an April Fool's Day "Really, Really, Really Balanced" patch for the game. It stands to reason that this is a deliberate part of the joke.
Quality? Control? At Blizzard?
Probably both incompetent staff and knowledge that the franchise is near dead since Blizzard killed all enthusiasm for the game with their actions so a feeling of 'who gives a shit!?' in the office.
Diversity hire : ''How do I do this?''
White male : ''The job is almost done. Just put the PLACEHOLDER_TEXT.''
Diversity hire : does this.
Also, picture the Auto-mutt-on.
When HR dictates gameplay....
Not even sure what I'm looking at, is this Overwatch?
Was now it's just a bloated live service mess with another new character. Some ugly snaggle toothed dirt digger.
40 characters with atrocious balancing that they have to kneecap abilities because people don't or can't play competently.
And I look at TF2 a well balanced game of 9 characters each with their own skills. Shocked how barely any have taken lessons from that. And only the wrong ones mostly.
Team Fortress is like DotA or Earthbound where the game itself was very good and a lot of fun but we would be much better off if it never existed because of what it spawned from people who weren't nearly good enough to imitate it.
My daughter and I used to play Overwatch quite a bit when she was in high school. By the time she was heading off to college and our play time decreased, the balance problems were getting really bad as they introduced new characters that were one man wrecking crews. Brigitte was a game-breaking master-of-all, IMO. I haven't even thought of playing OW in years, Blizzard really cocked up what was a decent game.
They fixated on just putting out new characters over and over and not having a proper core experience. Turning it into Overwatch 2 just made things worse
Yeah. I heard from my brother that much of the balancing was done because they didn't want to scare away Esports players.
I did once hear that the end goal was to have 40 heroes in overwatch's lifespan, and to be honest, I think if it's this bad, then it's well past the time that they stop.
This is to say nothing of how we now have definite confirmation that they canned the PVE content they promised for years.
I checked to try Overwatch at some point despite the ultra woke lore. Blizzard took it behind the shed and shot it. You can't play the game anymore.
Now there is only Overwatch II. Which has this rating on Steam : ''Extremely negative 2/10''.
I didn't bother trying.
I liked it when it came first out but never got in to it, mostly do to personal stuff at the time. I'm glad I didn't
The BIG issue with the game is the amount of content. Overwatch 1 came out at the time when people wanted that type of game and what did Bli77 do? Fuck it up by not adding content to it. It's honestly insane how much they fucked it up, probably one of those failures that need to be put in an economics book since Overwatch could just print money easily. Oh also, fuck lootboxes, hated those in the game.
