As for his supporters, so far, they've done nothing as Trump and other Trump supporters have been persecuted
Which is just slightly different than assassinating him. They may be delusional about winning through the courts, but I doubt any of them think he could be lawyered back to life.
And what exactly would they do if he were assassinated? They'd say: "well, what's the point now, he's gone anyway". As it is, Trump supporters call every protest on behalf of Trump a federal action intended to entrap his supporters (which some may well be), so I'm not exactly underestimating their rationalizations aimed at saving their own skin.
I think the reason they won't assassinate him is not that, but rather, that he's a morbidly obese man who's nearly 80. He's not exactly going to live long even if he wins. If they assassinate him, he'll be a martyr for all the ages.
They would do a repeat of "muh insurrection" but they would bring their guns this time. I don't underestimate the rationalizations of Europeans to justify their lack of a spine and project the same onto us, which is why I would ask my dog for his opinion before I would ask any of you.

You won't hear a justification from me for our lack of spine.
But people are not as different as you want to claim. If it really were to happen that tens of millions of people would rise up, I'd be rather surprised.
