Thanks, this was my point. The idea that putin does not want to conquer ukraine and install a puppet is patently absurd. Of course he does. What else would he do. Now you and u/Assassin47/ can fight it out.
>This new Kiev country might even be allowed to have elections and elect a government that is unfriendly to Russia
Really? How has putin typically treated his political opposition?
You asked me to answer a specific hypothetical and I answered. But I never said that means he’s 100% going to take over the administration of a tiny, landlocked Ukrainian rump state after its eastern provinces are taken and it (and the rest of NATO) is demilitarized and neutered. The point is, the regime in a tiny powerless little rump state won’t matter that much, especially if they’re kept from forming a military.
And my god your moral grandstanding about Putin and his dastardly ways is so facile. Like cmon, do you think America is any better when it comes to that? Seth Rich, hello? Like ffs JFK was killed by the CIA in broad daylight in front of everyone. Do you actually think 9/11 wasn’t an inside job? Seems to me that western governments are more of a threat to me than Russia ever was. Putin never shut down my bank account for donating to a peaceful trucker protest.
lol, you think if you can just get me to “say the line” you’re scoring some sort of victory while ignoring the context of the rest of the discussion. In this case, I already implied that Putin oppresses his political opposition but also demonstrated that it’s absolutely nothing different than what every the american regime has always done. Are you autistic? Serious question.
I guess that's one way to put it. If you don't care so much, I don't understand why you can't just honestly evaluate the situation. Why are you so defensive?
>he installs a friendly puppet regime
