People say wild hog tastes bad/is unsafe for three reasons. Wild hogs don't stand around, eating corn and soy all day, so they're very, very lean and muscular. They're also tougher, because they aren't slaughtered as pudgy teenagers like commercial hogs. The worms bit comes from "zomfg, trichinosis", which is a danger from just about any animal, including walrus...es. (Wal---ri?) Key line from that document:
Although trichinellosis in the United States has historically been associated with consumption of pork, multiple nonporcine species of wild game also are competent hosts for Trichinella spp. and have been collectively implicated in the majority of trichinellosis cases since the late 1990s.
There is this guy called "the slock master" on youtube and he kills shit with a heavy spear simply by baiting game under a tree and dropping it on them.
You're in the states right? Boars are an invasive species in some areas so just get a powerful enough gun and keep the meat coming.
I have said even if I gotta go Predator with traps to catch animals, I'M GETTING MY MEAT!
Yes. Here in Texas they are considered a nuisance so it’s open season all the time. The meat is very good
I've heard so much conflicting information on whether wild boar is good to eat, I don't know who to believe.
Some people swear by it, some say is disgusting, some claim it's how you prep it, ect, ect...
If it comes to that, I'll just stick to deer and add plenty of fat to my roasts.

Are you talking about trichinosis?
As long as you cook wild boar to 165F, you will be fine. Of course it will be dry as shit unless you're braising or something.
Haven’t had it in years but a farmer friend owed me money so he paired me in boar meat he processed
I have a friend that has been hunting boars for years. Cook them properly and it is ok. The meat tastes ok.
