People say wild hog tastes bad/is unsafe for three reasons. Wild hogs don't stand around, eating corn and soy all day, so they're very, very lean and muscular. They're also tougher, because they aren't slaughtered as pudgy teenagers like commercial hogs. I've heard so much conflicting information on whether wild boar is good to eat, I don't know who to believe.
Some people swear by it, some say is disgusting, some claim it's how you prep it, ect, ect...
If it comes to that, I'll just stick to deer and add plenty of fat to my roasts.
